GDC 2006 Photos and Loco Roco Gameplay Video

The gameplay video was messed up so we reencoded and reposted the vid.

We've been out at Game Developers Conference in San Jose the last few days and we wanted to show you some photos of the PSP demo stations and the PSP Spot game kiosk. Sony's Expo Booth had a bunch of game stations that included Metal Gear Acid 2, Me and My Katamari, Daxter, Generation of Chaos, Field Commander, Talkman, Worms, Exit and last but not least Loco Roco.

They also had several downloadable games though the PSP Spot like Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Mega Man Powered Up and Loco Roco. Phil Harrison, Sony's Playstation Head, mentioned during his keynote speech that Loco Roco would be released this summer in the US. We've shot some video of this wonderfully cute and addictive game and made it available here for your enjoyment!

Microsoft Launches On10

On10 is a new video show/blog/community website that profiles interesting and passionate people. It's been setup by Channel 9 folks and the blogs are manned by Microsoft employees so it's a total Microsoft lovefest. The PSP releated news is that they've made their daily video download available in WMV, IPod Video and PSP Video formats.

A Scanner Darkley - Movie Trailer 2

This is another PSP video trailer for the new Richard Linklater / Keanu Reeves movie, Scanner Darkly from our new friends at Warner Independent Pictures. It's currently scheduled to hit the theatres this summer.

Synopsis
"A Scanner Darkly" is set in suburban Orange County, California in a future where America has lost the war on drugs. When one reluctant undercover cop is ordered to start spying on his friends, he is launched on a paranoid journey into the absurd, where identities and loyalties are impossible to decode. It is a cautionary tale of drug use based on the novel by Philip K. Dick and his own experiences.

Like a graphic novel come to life, "A Scanner Darkly" will use live action photography overlaid with an advanced animation process (interpolated rotoscoping) to create a haunting, highly stylized vision of the future. The technology, first employed in Richard Linklaters 2001 film "Waking Life," has evolved to produce even more emotional impact and detail.
