Wipeout Pure Classic Pack I

A new Classic Pack I was released today for Wipeout Pure. This is an expansion download so you have to already own the game to play it.

This is the fourth free download for Wipeout Pure following the three Gamma Packs. WP has got to be one of the best values out there on the PSP. The game is tight in every respect and it's probably one of the cheaper titles out there now. AND it's the only game out there that's dropping new content on you every couple of months. You gotta try this game if you're a racing fan.

Japanese PSP Firmware Update 2.0

UPDATE:

Sony has officially told people not to upgrade their PSP with the System Software 2.0 unless it's a Japanese PSP. Unless you're the adventurous type, i wouldn't recommend upgrading your North American PSP. For those who have upgrade, the software seems pretty solid and you'll be the first to enjoy pspdrive on your psps!

PSP System Software 2.0 has been release in Japan but folks from around the world have been installing it on their PSPs.

Big warning here! If you upgrade THE HOMEBREW GAMES & APPS ON THIS SITE WON'T WORK. You also take the risk of seriously messing up your PSP but there have been no reported problems with software update yet.

Here are main new Features.

Internet Browser - HTML 4.01, CSS, Mozilla Javascript, Tabbed Browing, File Download
Video - MP4 AVC (High Quality Video Codec) Playback from memory stick. new 4:3 mode
Audio - WAV and AAC (MP4) support
Photo - Wallpaper/Background and TIFF,PNG,GIF,BMP support in viewer.
Wireless - WPA-PSK (TKIP) was added as a security method.

Instructions if you decide to upgrade
1. Plug in your PSP to your PC (AC Power also Recommended)
2. Click on "Send to PSP"
3. Download Files to PSP
4. Go to "Games -> Mem Stick"
5. Find the Update File and Click to Install (Do not interrupt or unplug anything!)
6. Check out the new goodies on your PSP

This is a tough decision so if you don't know or you're worried, then DON'T UPGRADE. We've got one upgraded PSP and one not. The browser is very sweet and we're very happy with the upgrade.
