Rumors of an Mobile XBox went off the charts yesterday after a silicon valley insider reported in the San Jose Mercury News that Microsoft is working on a mobile handheld gaming device that will compete head on with Apple's iPod and Sony's PSP. The project is headed by J Allard and Greg Gibson, two senior leaders of the XBox design staff. The project is still in the early stages and it's unlikely we'll see anything for at least year or two.

This is not the first rumor of a XBox portable gaming device but this news seems to have more credibility because of the recent announcements of the Oragami project, increased competition from Apple and Sony and internal reorganizations at Microsoft that have put the control of entertainment and media products with the XBox management team.

i like psp and all but... NINE TAIL ARE U CRAZY HALO 2 IS ON XBOX AND THAT IS THE BEST GAME EVER ( NOT TO OFFEND SONY LOVERS ) AND IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE COOL TO SEE WAT MICROSOFT HAS UP THEIR SLEEVES...cuz if they do have a portable xbox, then we know it will have an internal hardrive and at least 5 gigs of memory which u can store downloads,games,music,videos and more... plus, it probably will have BETTER GRAPHICS.

It maybe the best selling game for xbox and maybe on other systems.. but i never got into it.. just one of those games that i don't like and don't follow with everyone... again, never liked xbox..it might have some cool features and so forth, but i'll never dig it. BOO!..lol

With the graphics... well it might since it's begin development or if they still are reseaching it...It better have better graphics!..but if sony comes out with the PSP2..then it's a different story...

WHOA! you cant base it off of one game...Halo might be a best seller for xbox but i honestly think the game is overrated, just like alot of others but again, im not a professional critic and that's my opinion.

Too all the xbox haters, I've owned them all and I love the psp , but If I had the rate them the xbox would be on top for sure. The system is great , but add the online part and It blows anything away.
I will look forward to the portable xbox.

well...all you stupid crazy xbox haters... REMEMBER that The PS2 and other sony products require you to BUY memory cards which cost money. On the xbox, it is optional.

And yes the online play blows the Ps2 and PSP away

one problem, it costs money for xbox live. the halo games are good, but i think killzone and black easily compete if not surpass.

first of all it is called the microsoft origami it is a tablet pc and a xbox and i have a xbox, xbox 360, ps2, psp, game cube, n64,nes, snes saturn, ps1, nintendo ds, computer, and a n-gage and i love all of them so you sony fan boys can fuck off.

yeah, the fanboy thing needs to stop. I picked up Oblivion for the 360 and KH 2 for PS2, and I don't know which I want to play more: both games have their strong and weak points: I'm in sweet love with BOTH systems: What closed-minded fool can't like Jak and Master Chief...?

well i think sony will never beat the xbox 360 because their ps3 is not even gonna have HD and believe me 360+big screen+HD=the best system and not 2 mention the graphics of the xbox have always been better than the playstation

okay... in competition with the apple's iPod and PSP... uhh i think that s too much to be saying especially when the iPod is on teh top of the market. also with thei future relased of a 3.5 inch touch screen iPod, i dont think that little xbox thing is going to go far... maybe the thing will compete with the DS but not the iPod or PSP... haha

As far as I know, I thought the PS was good for RPGs... but then came Xbox.. and raped the PS, lmfao. Xbox will pwn the PS in every way. Has great graphics, online community, downloads for everything.. I mean come on. PS is already going down. I cant imagine Mobile Xbox.. that'll be like.. the comming of the ice era for the PS, lol. Also, it's Microsoft, one of the biggest companies out there, they'll toss in as much as they'd like just to make it happen or to make it better than PSP.
